A tourist map helps Cork residents find out what’s available within 5 kilometers of their homes

Cork County Council encourages residents to use the Rediscover Cork Country interactive tourism map to discover the range of activities available within 5 kilometers from their homes.

the map initiative was launched in June under the Cork City Council ACT project , and map contains a wide range of details about more than 700 activities that can be taken advantage of .

The main feature of the map is a close tool that enables the user to insert his location it will provide the user with information about the attractions near his residence.

Cork Country Council Chief Executive Tim Lucy said that the map could be a valuable tool for all Cork residents during the current level 5 restrictions, where in the current situation travel is limited to only 5 kilometers from their homes to pay sports . this map can be of great use , For everyone , especially after the indoor attractions have been closed for the time being.

The map is also very useful for discovering a wide rang of other activities ,whether it is a picnic , a cycling trail , a beach , or an out door heritage site.

Mayor of Cork City Mary Linehan Foley said ‘Using the map,I discovered a local excursion in my area that I was not aware of before , she described it as an amazing achievement by the Cork County Council as having developed this interactive map and said I encourage all Cork residents to use it as part of their daily rountine , especially during the next six weeks and beyond.
