Higher Education Minister Simon Harris confirms the establishment of Munster Technological University 1 of January 2021
The Irish Minister of Higher Education Simon Hears announced that the Munster Technological University will be established on January 1 ,2021 the new university accommodate 18,000 students spread over five campuses in City Bishopstown , City Corford College of Art and Design and Naval Collage in Ireland in Ringaskiddy , the MTU is increasing employment and growth opportunities across Ireland .
The minister added that the government has a very clear ambition to establish a series of interconnected higher education institutions and explained that the goal of this development is to ensure that all regions become centers of vibrant power in creating skills , encouraging research and development and providing the capabilities to achieve all these goals , especially as technological universities TUS is generally a key component of this strategic approach ,providing a wide range of sills ,helping to create them and creating greater research capabilities , helping to achieve the social and economic advancement of nations.
Fianna Fáil TD for Cork North Central Padraig O’Sullivan welcomed the news and said it is a historic development that Ireland will witness.
