Cork City Council drafts an Air Quality Strategy (2021_2026) consultation
The strategy defines the measures that Cork City Council will take between 2021 and 2026 aimed at reducing the concentrations of air pollutants in the city which will positively affect the health of the city`s residents.
Chief Operating Officer David Joyce said
The air quality strategy has relied on a great effort that has been made by the Cork City Council aiming to develop an air quality monitoring system Initiatives have also been developed to reduce levels of air pollutants in the city and to ensure a ban on the sale of smoked fuel to ensure better air quality and the continuation of life Keeps pace with the development that Cork will witness over the coming years.
Implementation of the air quality strategy will include contributions from many departments within the city council and contributions from exernal stakeholders the procedures put in place to implement the strategy were divided into seven topics namely.
Health and well- being
Air monitoring
travel
Electric vehicles and charging in frastructure
Implementation and regulation
Green infrastructure
Research and innovation
