Final government approval for the establishment of a technological University (TU) in the Midlands and central- western Ireland
ON Wednesday May 5, 2021, Irish Minister of Higher Education Simon Harris announced the Irish government`s approval to establish a new technology university that equips new students with the skills and apportunities they will need.
Mr. Simon Harris said that the new university of technology will be of increasing size and scope that will benefit students in the counties of Westmeath, Limerick , terry ,Clare and Ovally and the new university will become the third technology university established since 2019.
In a statement , Mr Harris affirmed” This new involved university of technology will increase the availability of opportunities for students to study various technological fields and will help provide employment opportunities . This university will also advance the economic , social and cultural development in Mylands and the Midwest.
Athlone Institute of Technology Prsident professor Kiran Kathin described the new university as a ”teaching force ” that would provide unprecedented levels in the technological field and also said that the new university would lead the future development and technological innovation throughtout Ireland.
