Ireland`s largest solar farm opens in Cork
Later this morning the largest solar farm in Ireland will be inaugurated by irish prime Minister Michael Martin, Chairman and CEO Lilly Dave Ricks in Kensal, Cork. the €5 million facility is located on a16- square- meter site. An acre in Dunderrow will produce up to 5.6 megawatts of electricity for the US pharmaceutical maker Lilly.
Lilly is one of the oldest pharmaceutical manufactures in ireland, the company has a workforce of nearly 500 employees in Ireland, and continues to grow, and its latest development is the establishment of a solar farm- the largest farm in the Irish Republic- capable of producing up to 5.6 megawatts Electricity: This is enough to meet the electricity needs of every home in Kinsale.
it is worth noting that China is at the forefront of the world in generating solar energy, as the total energy generated by its farm is more than 130 megawatts. China is the first country in the world in the production of solar energy technology, 60% of the total solar panels in the world were brought from China.
