A new Scheme for the construction of housing units for rent belonging to the Irish government in Cork at a cost of 30 million euros
Clúid Housing has announced plans for 88 rental units , including 73 apartments and 15 homs, to be built in the company’s adjacent O’Callaghan facilities in Lancaster Quay.
The apartments vary between one- and two – bedroom apartments , and the rent ranges from 990 euros to 1,100 euros per month, which represents 45% less than the rental rates in the real estate market.
This initiative comes in order to provide housing units for middle -wage owners who are unable to obtain housing units at the usual rents. According to the famous website daft.ie , which specializes in renting and owning residential units , the annual increase in rental prices has reached 5.6% , which is the highest growth rate it has reached since mid – 2019 . the residential units avaliable on the site for rent amount to only 2455 units , three quarters of which are in dublin , which is the lowest rate since the site was established in 2006.
This is the scond project of its kind carried out by Clúid Housing, where the company built 25 housing units in the north of Dublin last month, and a thousand applications for rent have been submitted so far.
The registraction date for the residential units in Cork City will be announced later .
The Minister of Housing Darragh O’Brian stated that these projects , under the supervision of the government , come within the framework of the state’s concern with its responsibilty towards providing adequate housing for all its citizens , regardless of their level of material income.
