Awareness campaign to keep children and youth safe across the country

An awareness campaign to keek children and young people safe in communities will be launched by the current Minister for Children ,Equality , Disability , Integration and Youth Mr . Roderick O’Gorman , AS the National Child Awareness Week aims to inform organizations and the public where to go if they believe that a child or young person is in danger .
This new initiative to strengthen child protection is supported by government departments , Tusla , HSE, and Garda.
Awareness Week serves as a reminder to public oraganizations to fulfill their responsibilities to protect children and young people under theFirst Child protection Act of 2015, which strengthens the protection of children from abuse and neglect by outlining what individuals and organizations need to do to keep children safe and how to address concernes about their safety and well- being.
Anyone who has a concern about a child or young person should report this to the Tusla Department of Social Work in the area where they live.
In emergency situations , where a child or young person appears to be in immediate danger , please contact the police directly.
