Police warn of complex scams that reach the bank account
Anumber of Amazon online shopping site customers reported receiving calls that appear to be from Amazon, stating that a certain amount will be debited from their account for a transaction that the customer did not perform, and then the customer is asked to disclose his account information and bank details in order to cancel this transaction and then This information is used to gain access to the customer’s Amazon account and their bank, and can lead to money being stolen from the bank account.
Accordingly , the Irish plice issued a stark warning with Amazon customers being exposed to complex scam i, espcially as this type of scam is becoming more common with individuals using online shopping during the Corona pandemic.
Police are urging customers to be vigilant and to ensure that no personal information is given out , and rest assured that a reputable company will never call you over the Phone to ask for banking details.
