Janssen Sciences Ireland : announces € 150 million investment creating 180 new full- time jobs
Janssen Science Ireland has announced that it is planning a €150 million investment to expand its pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Ringaskiddy, Cork to implement the expansion , which began early this year and is expected to take about two years , upon completion of the expansion , the company expects employment in the areas of facilities , engineering quality , manufacturing and regulatory affairs.
The Janssen Pharmaceutical Factory in Ringaskiddy has been in operation since 2005 and manufactures medicines for immunological and oncological patients to meet the critical needs of patients with rheumatoid arthritis , psoriasis and multiple myeloma , The site now employs more than 700 people.
Ireland’s Deputy Prim Minister and Minister of Employment , Mr.Leo Vardecard, welcomed the news of the investment announcement, describing it as a fantastic job for Cork and for patients around the world who will be using the medicines made at this manufacturing facility.
Mr Vardecard added that he is proud of Ireland’s thriving life sciences sector, and that such investment demonstrates the strenth of the country’s talent in such fields, whishing all the success to the work team in Ireland.
