Cork University Hospital urges patients to adhere to pre _set medical examination dates

The Echo Live news paper revealed that 50 thousand cases had failed to attend pre_scheduled medical examination appointments during the past year at cork University Hospital ,and 30 thousand cases at cuh Hospital.
these large have summoned many doctors and specialists in both hospitals to demand that new measures be taken that would increase communication between patients and the hospital’s reception management to confirm the commitment to attend the scheduled examination date ,by sending phone messages or postal letters.
Dr Chris Luke ,a consultant emergency medicine consultant and assistant professor at Cork University, said ,”the large number of missed appointments causes a lot of material losses”.
Dr Chirs Luke also stressed the importance of starting to implement these procedures, although it seems that this will increase costs due to the use of more papers and stamps ,but this will save a lot of time and effort of doctors.and these costs are not comparable to the millions that will be wasted due to the failure to go the deadlines .
As the patient’s absence from the preset appointment without informing the hospital’s appointments department may result in depriving another patient ,he may be in greater need for this appointment ,and it is also a waste of the doctor’s time who can benefit from him in another activity.
