A new system to accelerate the tracking of cases of people infected with coronavirus in schools
A new system will be implemented to accelerate the tracking of cases of people infected with Coronavirus in schools, starting from the second semester.
Dedicated school teams will also be established and resourced in each district made up of public health professionals , who will assist schools in which a positive case is detected.
The Ministry of Education is also responsible for supporting school adminstrators in finding substitute teachers or assistants with special needs when there are cases of absence as result of infection with the Coronavirus.
Spoken woman for Minister Norma Foley said that the public health response to schools will be strengthened with the new measures, and the Ministry of Education is working intensively with public health authorities to streamline procedures and information flow to reduce the administrative burden on schools.
She also said that Coronavirus tests have already been released as a priority for close contacts with schools through procedures established by public health professionals across the country where confirmed cases emerge between staff and students or in families who have close contact with staff and students, and the referral process for specific schools within the HSE system.
The spokes women also confirmed that’ it is not possible to completely eliminate cases of infection , but the priority is to provide the largest amount of information and support for school leaders , employees and parents’.
