Sun holidays from Ireland in 2020
The Irish government has launched a media campaign called”Be Prepared for summer” this campaign aims to provide information to the general public about potential risks that may affect them during the summer months, and the campaign focuses on providing advice to everyone to be careful while visiting the beaches.
The campaign was launched jointly by the Minister of Defense and Chair of the Governmental Task Force on Contingency planning , Mr Simon Coveney ,Minister of Rural and community Development Ms , Head Humphries , and the Minister of State in Charge of International Affairs, Roads ,Transport and Services

Minister Coveney said :
We have all gone through difficult circumstances due to the Corona pandemic, and with the improvement of the weather and the beginning of everyone going out for walks and visiting the beaches , we must be careful with regard to our personal safety , as every death due to drowning is a tragedy for the victim`s family , friends and communities.
Also , through the many efforts exerted by the organizations, hundreds of people have been saved every year from drowning , and thousands receive first aid , so we call on everyone to comply with public health guidelines and government restrictions , and it is imperative that talking about water safety be part of the conversations we have with our friends.

The launch of the ” Be Summer Ready” campaign is also a timely reminder of the need for everyone to care about their personal safety and realize what needs to be done in an emergency , especially at a time when large numbers of people participate in swimming in open water.
It is assured that campaign messages will be delivered via the Internet and information platforms based on social media. A brochure containing all the information of the ”Be Ready for Summer” initiative and a brouchure on ”Be aware of water safety” will be provided , which are available for download through the link.
