Launching of an educational film for young people called” I , You and the European Union ” by the European Commission
To celebrate Europe Day 2021 , the European Commission Representative in Ireland released a new short film about the European union , prepared with young people .
Me, You and the European Union is a twenty -five minute educational short film that tells the story of Ireland and the European Union in an enjoyable and acessible way. the film includes asking Irish teens about the European Union to find out what Ireland`s membership in the European Union means to them.
Viewers will be able to follow teens on a journey to discover more about the history of the European Union from the postwar era of the 1950 s to present day.
It will also learn about how the different institutions operate , and how the European Union deals with the current challenges, namely Brexit and the emerging corona virus epidemic.
Acting Head of Representative of the European Commission in Ireland said” The launch of this short film that tells about the history of the European Union since its inception on May 9, 1950 is a great encouragement for young people to think about the impact of Europe on their daily lives and the opportunities it provides for their future in terms of work and study.
