Aldi Ireland opens new store in Douglas, Cork
Aldi store opened a new flagship store this morning in Douglas , Cork, as Aldi stores continue to expand nationwide, the new store will permanently create 27 jobs.
Located on the Old Douglas Cinema site, the new store will be Aldi`s 24th store to open in county Cork the company operates 229 supermarkets across the country and has ivested€120 million in Cork, employs1,000 employees across the county, and spends 30 million euros in wages annually.
Aldi has said it plans to hire 120 people in Cork in 2021, and the company is also planning to expand its presence in cork and has recently submitted planning orders for new stores in Clonakilty, due to open in late 2022, and on Schardt Road, Black Rock planned to open in 2024, Anew Carrigali ne Pottery store is also planned.
It is worth nothing that Aldi has donated €1,ooo to the Children`s Charity CUH(Cork University Hospital) in order to promote the wonderful work the Charity is doing.
