Here are some tips to help kids deal with back- to School anxiety
With the start of the new school year, many families in Ireland are experiencing feeling of anxiety about new teachers, new friends, and about everything unusual for children , Hygiene to face the virus , vaccinations , and general anxiety about the unknown in the future, these may be the reasons that cause anxiety in some children.
Here are some tips to help your child deal with back- to-school anxiety:
First: Prepare your child for success by starting to talk about the school and the sucesses he will achieve in the new year, and talk about the positive experiences that occurred in the past year, the advantages of social communication , the oppertunities to talk and play with his friends , and the fun school activities.
Scond: Give your child a sense of freedom of choice, for example , involve your child in choosing his favorite school meals. if your child wears a uniform , he can pick out and pre – pack his favorite socks or girl’s favorite hair accessories. the child may feel a great help on the first day of school when the father and the mother are waiting for him when he goes out and embraces him.
Third: Prepare a surprise for the child after returning from school, such as chocolate or some of his favortite sweets. they are small and positive things that can be done to make the child feel happy.
