Amazon announces 500 new jobs in Ireland
Amazon has announced plans to expand its presence on the Irish island , where the company is set to open a new 630,000 square meter shopping center in Dublin located in Baldonnell Business Park , creating 500 new jobs to help meet customer needs and provide faster delivery that may take a day, One to facilliate the delivery of more products to a larger segment of customers , this hub will provide milllions of products to be packaged and shipped.
Recruiment has begun in a range of new roles including Engineers, HR and IT Specialists, Operations Managers and Health and Safety Specialists, while product Packers and Shippers will be recruited starting next year.
The company explained that the payment system for employees whether part -time or full -time, is at least 12 euros per hour.
The news comes on the heels of the company’s announcement last year that it plans to create1,000 new jobs in Ireland over the next two years, bringing the company’s total workforce across Ireland to 5,000 by 2022.
Amazon has started its business in Ireland since 2004 , it is an American multinational e-commerce company that started selling books and then expanded its products to later revolutionize the world of shopping and electonic stores , the value of its goods exceeds one hundred billion dollars annually , It was founded on July 5 1994 by businessman Jeff Bezos Its headquarters is located in the state of Washington , USA.
The Irish Deputy Prim Minister and Minsiter of Commerce and Employment, Mr Leo Varadkar, welcomed the company’s announcement, wishing it good luck and noting that the company’s new investments in the Irish island confirm its firm and continouous commitment to supporting and strengthening the Irish economic sector , which helps to promote the level and prosperity of the e- commerce sector in Ireland.
