Penneys Ireland launches new apparel and textile recycling scheme in 36 stores nationwide
Penneys has announced Takeback boxes in all of its 36 Irish stores so people can put away clothes , shoes, bags and textiles for recycling.
Apparel and textiles delivered to the store will be collected and recycled to make it easier for customers to donate their used clothes and textiles .
Recently research conducted on the rececling behavior of Irish consumers found that the lack of delivery locations is a barrier , the vast majority are more likely to recycle clothes and shoes if they can do it in the same store.
The program was also launched today in Germany and Austria and is followed by a program in the United Kingdom , All profits from the program will go to UNICEF, one of Penney’s global charitable partners.
