Irish Water issuses a Boil Water Notice to 9, 500 customers east of Cork
A notice has been issued by Cork County Council and Irish Water after consulation with the Health Authority of Ireland (HSE) as a precaution to protect the public health of consumers from issues with the treatment process at the Whitegate Water Treatment Plant due to heavy rains that may have compromised the disinfection process resulting in Makes the water unusable .
Affected areas east of Cork are Whitegate, Aghada , Churchtown, Saleen,Ballycotton, Shanagarry, Ballinacurra and areas of Colyne.
Irish water is working closely with Cork County Council to resolve the problem and raise the notic once it is safe.
