A media campaign aimed at promoting safe online shopping by An Garda Siochana
As part of the 2021 e- commerce measure, the Irish Police have issued an online shopping fraud warning by launching a media campaign aimed at promoting safe online shopping and advising retailers , customers and e-commerce businesses, and the need to exercise extra caution when conduction online transactions , pay attention to the advice given , especially in the run – up to Christmas , and in particular the Blace Friday sales promotion period.
The police gave some advice , including dealing with well- known brands and stores , the customer should be careful in the method of payment and always use the recommended payment sites , if this is not possible , use credit cards when buying as most cards have strong customer protection policy , card details are never sent by e- mail or text messages , Customers must verify all date and exercise caution.
These tips are offered to customers, merchants and companies for further advice offered through the Europol initiative.
