Primark announces an ivestment of €250 and the creation of 700 new jobs
Primark plans to invest more than €250 million in the Irish Republic over the nex 10 years, helping to increase its workforce in Ireland by 12% over the next three years by creating 700 new jobs, including 100 at its global headquarters in Dublin city center.
The investment program includes approximately €60 million for the expansion and development of a cork store on Patrick street , a € 20 million investment in Galway’s Eyre Square department store, and a €75 million investment in a new retail store in Newbridge, Killdare.
Penneys is the brand the company uses in the Irish market.
The new roles announced will be in the areas of technology , purchasing , shopping , design , store development, finance , human resources , directors intern and part – time and full- time department managers.
Globally, Primark has approximately 399 stores and 70,000 employees Penneys Ireland has approximately 37 stores and employs approximately 500 employees.
Mr Leovaradkar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce and Employment welcomed the announcement and praised the success story of Penneys in Ireland , one of the most famous fashion retailers in the Irish Republic.
