Both are free of charge to call.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Call the emergency services by dialing 112 or 999 from a mobile or fixed phone line.<\/p>\n<p>112 also works in any EU country and from any phone, free of charge.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><strong>What happens when you call 112 or 999<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Once you&#8217;re connected to an emergency service operator, they will direct the call to the appropriate emergency service. This could be:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"\">\n<li>ambulance<\/li>\n<li>Garda\u00ed<\/li>\n<li>fire brigade<\/li>\n<li>coast guard<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Electricity<\/strong>: For any <b>electrical<\/b>&nbsp;interruptions or&nbsp;<b>emergencies<\/b>&nbsp;you should&nbsp;<b>contact<\/b>&nbsp;ESB Networks immediately at <strong>1850 372 999<\/strong> (24 hours)<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Gas<\/strong>: If you smell <strong>gas&nbsp;<\/strong>call&nbsp;Gas&nbsp;Networks Ireland 24 hour&nbsp;emergency line&nbsp;immediately or <strong>1850 20 50 50<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Water<\/strong>: Report a possible blockage, flood, No water or very low pressure, sewage issue in a public watermain Call Water Ireland <strong>1850 278 278<\/strong>&nbsp;\/ International&nbsp;<strong>+353 1 707 2828<\/strong>. Lines are open 24 hours, 7 days a week. (Please note that the rates charged for 1850 numbers may vary across different service providers.
